PROJECT
Part 2 : Design Direction
1. Sketching
As this poster incorporates three modules ( DPI, IVN, and TYPO), I'll break down the progression into three parts.
A) IVN
I created all the elements that needed in the poster using Illustrator.

B) TYPO
I designed my own font called 'Bongbloc' using Illustrator and Fontlab 7 in my Typography class.
C) DPI
I plan to incorporate the self-portrait below into this project.

I use quick selection tool to select my self portrait and refine edges in mask mode. Then, I add solid colour as the background and also adjust curve, exposure and hue/saturation.

After that, I crop a circle from my modified photo and position it within the vinyl I designed. Arrange all the elements according to my initial sketch. Set the textured wallpaper and my self-portrait as the background, adjusting the opacity as needed. Use the brush tool to craft a torn paper effect and sprinkle in some musical notes.

Title : Life goes on
Artist statement : This poster not only mirrors the constant flow of life but also emphasises the importance of hitting the "pause" button when needed. Life, like a music that never stops playing, moves on with its ups and downs. This artwork, on the other hand, promotes the idea that it's totally fine to press the "pause" button - a gentle reminder that taking a break is necessary among life's never-ending beat. It acknowledges the challenges that we face and promotes the idea that taking time to pause, reflect, and recharge is not only acceptable, but also necessary. The journey of life may be ongoing, but the beauty stays in knowing when to hit "pause," allowing for a breath, a moment of relief, and the opportunity to enjoy the melody at our own pace.
